Taxi
service: excess charges of foreign visitors are common. Ask for trip price
in advance and mention that you will want a receipt (účtenka in Czech) at
the end of the trip.
We
recommend using more reliable radio taxi via call center – AAA Radio Taxi,
tel. (420) 14014
english speaking.
Current
price list (2005): within Prague 25 CZK/1km, one-off boarding fee 34 CZK,
waiting time is priced at 5 CZK/1 minute.
From
the airport
-
Bus no. 119
operates between the terminal – North of Prague – Ruzyně Airport (stop Nové
letiště) and terminal subway station Dejvická on line A. Runs every 20–40
minutes between 4:00 am and 00:00 am.
Trip takes 30–40 minutes. Before boarding the bus, you must buy a 20 CZK bus/metro ticket (transfer
ticket) at a newstand in the Non-Schengen departures area or at the ticket
vending machine (need coins) at the bus stop, which is located in front of
the Non-Schengen arrivals area across two traffic lanes. Once on the bus,
get the ticket validated in one of the small orange boxes (the ticket is
then valid for the subway as well). You can also buy tickets from the driver
at somewhat higher prices but you need change.
-
Minibus:
Shuttle service between the airport and the city centre at Náměstí republiky
(square near to the CNB Congress Center). Minibuses for 6 passengers; single
trip price is 90 crowns per passenger.
-
Taxi: Do
not pay more than 500 crowns for a trip from the airport to the downtown.
To the
cocktail venue
The best way
to get to the Coctail venue in the Valdstejn (Wallenstein,
Valdstein) Garden of the Czech
Senate is to take metro line A to station Malostranská
and walk along the Valdštejnská
street until the
Valdštejnské square (náměstí),
where the entrance to the senate is. Alternativeely, one can walk from
CERGE-EI, through the Old Town
and across the Charles or
Mánes Bridge,
using the map enclosed in the conference package – this will take about 30
minutes of walk through prime sightseeing locations.
To the dinner venue
The best
way to get to the Dinner venue at the KCP center is is to take metro line C.
Get off at the Vyšehrad
metro stop, follow the exit sings to The Congress
Centre (Kongresové
centrum)
– it is located right next to the metro stop. Enter The Congress Centre via
entrance number 5, on the 1st floor you will find ZOOM restaurant where the
dinner will be held. We do not recommend to walk to KCP from CERGE-EI as the
path goes along a major highway.
