Sponsoring the EALE/SOLE conference

The Third International Conference of the Society of Labor Economists (SOLE) and the European Association of Labor Economists (EALE) takes place in London on June 17-19, 2010. This event will surely be one of the most well attended economics conferences of the year, and the best attended labor economics conference of the next five years. It provides a unique opportunity for advertising the services and products of your organization to a very large set of economists doing teaching, research, and providing policy advice to governments in the developed and developing world.

What is the SOLE/EALE International Conference?

SOLE and EALE are the two most important organizations of labor economists in the world, based in the United States and Europe respectively.  Even though each institution organizes its own annual conference, every five years they organize a joint international conference.

This year the conference is hosted by University College London (UCL), which holds one of the world's top economics' departments. The current presidents of SOLE and EALE are both faculty members at UCL. All this, combined with the fact that the conference takes place in a city such as attractive and accessible as London, means that attendance at this event will be extremely high.

Who will attend?

The fact that we received 1250 papers for this conference confirmed that this joint conference belongs to the top conferences of this year, with more  than 400 papers accepted mainly from teachers and researchers coming from the US and Europe (we expect more more than 500 participants). Moreover, labor economics has become such a broad field that we will feature economists from a diverse range of areas: labor, health, education, public finance, experimental economics, behavioral economics, migration, development,  macroeconomics, trade, and econometrics. Most if not all of these fields are in very high demand by both students, and governments increasingly seek the best experts in these fields for policy advice.

Why should you be an exhibitor or a sponsor at this event?

If you market to our target audience then the publishers’ exhibition at the conference will be a perfect place to unveil new publications and products. In order to generate the attention that publishers/exhibitors deserve and maximize opportunities for interaction with conference participants the stands are planned in a main traffic area at UCL. They will be located in a premium position, namely in the cloisters, close to the poster presentations, the registration desk and refreshment service points.
See the virtual tour at http://www.ucl.ac.uk/admission/access-ucl/virtual-ucl/north-cloisters/.

This year we are also able to offer sponsorships of special events, which are usually the most memorable events of the conference, and congregate the largest audiences. They include plenary sessions, invited sessions, the main conference lunch, and the main conference dinner. These will allow the sponsoring organization to project a highly visible image of its activities onto conference participants at the central moments of the conference.

Please view the exhibitors' pack and the sponsorships' pack for more information. They will help you decide what level of support is right for you, and explain how to contact us.
